Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 1 January 2026Oakridge Builds is committed to making our website at oakridgebuilds.co.uk accessible to as many people as possible, including users with visual, auditory, motor and cognitive impairments. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA where reasonably achievable.
1. Design and build standards
We have designed this website with accessibility in mind. Specific measures include:
- Semantic HTML structure with meaningful headings, landmarks and labels.
- A skip-to-content link at the top of each page.
- Sufficient colour contrast between text and background, and avoidance of conveying meaning by colour alone.
- Alternative text descriptions for content images.
- Keyboard-navigable menus, forms and interactive elements.
- Responsive layout that adapts to a range of screen sizes and supports browser zoom up to 200% without loss of functionality.
- Clear, plain English wording throughout the site.
2. Known limitations
Despite our best efforts, some areas of the website may not yet be fully accessible. If you encounter any barriers, please let us know and we will work to address them.
3. Reporting accessibility issues
If you experience difficulty accessing any part of this website, or need information in an alternative format (e.g. a quotation or document), please contact oakridgebuildsss@gmail.com. Please describe the issue, the page concerned and the assistive technology or browser you are using. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
4. On-site accessibility
For property visits and project work, we will discuss any specific accessibility needs (e.g. communication preferences, scheduling around carers, additional time for walkthroughs) at the enquiry stage so that the service is delivered comfortably and respectfully.
5. Ongoing improvement
We treat accessibility as an ongoing commitment, not a one-off task. We review the website periodically and update this statement when meaningful changes are made.
